Hello students and fellow art and anime lovers. My name is April. I am the main artist at *Paranoid-Duckkie and I opened a new account where I plan to make my own manga (not at *Paranoid-Duckkie because I didn’t want to overwhelm my fanart and photos). This manga site is ~manic-goose If you want to see what I am capable of as an artist, feel free to visit either. Also, you can contact me at both since I keep up with both daily (expect when I am overwhelmed by homework in the real world, but I would inform you in advance if that is about to happen.

I am an ideal teacher because I am actually training to become a real teacher, and eventually an art teacher. I could get on my high horse and say at this point that this is a great opportunity to get first class instruction which would usually cost you for free…. But that isn’t exactly true. I am still learning, and this is a great opportunity for me to practice. Also, it is only on-line and there is a limit to how much I can help on-line as opposed to a real art lesson in person.

I am willing to teach traditional art, and digital. I have a mouse instead of a tablet and if you are one of the many trapped with this tool instead of the mystifying tablet, then I am probably a good teacher for you. I can give instruction in drawing techniques, coloring, and in how to use Photoshop in general. Hey, I could give you photography instruction if you want. … But you probably are more interested in anime drawing and coloring.

I’m generally a nice person… and I love giving my support where I can. I like emoticons, but I am still learning them myself (maybe I need an emoticon teacher myself. ^__^x) I know that one, and my favorite is I have a sense of humor… I think… and I lurv Rurouni Kenshin (my account proves that.) If you don’t like RK, then go away… (Just kidding, I don’t really care if YOU like it or even have heard of it, but if you do, that is just one more thing we have in common.) Other hobbies I have are playing the piano and singing and most anything related to art, I love animals, especially cats and wolves, and I enjoy living in the great outdoors. Now it sounds like I am trying to hook up with someone. All I need to say now is “I’m an Aries” to complete the concept… wait I just said it now. Oh well, I’m not looking to hook up with anyone… except to help you to grow as an artist and also to grow as a teacher myself. I look forward to meeting you.

Hey folks. I am called Satoe here on DA. I am also leader in my second club ~Basilisk-Valley. I like drawing, listening to music, talking with my friends (I am often in these chatrooms: [link] and [link] ), reading books, watching anime and good movies, playing pc games - RPGs are the best... I absolutely love sea and salt water! I like also animals, nature, night and peace.. I would like to visit Egypt, India, Japan and Australia. And I love hindu religion, just for you to know. Ok, that's enough! I guess it is quite boring for you..
Now to the art. I study at collage of scenic art studies. I am getting good marks. And I ... Absolutely hate it!! Thanks goodness I am leaving this school year, cuz I have enough. I prefer when I can draw what I want. I speak English (I hope good enough..) and Spanish a little. (Of course I can speak in my native Slovak and Czech language too.. But no one would understand it..) I like anime of course, since this is an anime art club.. My favourite anime series are:

These are the best and I love them all. Now you know a bit of my taste, and I can tell you about styles of art that I prefer. I am a traditional artist, though I have drawn some digital pieces with my mouse too. I will get a tablet on Christmas, but now I am a traditional artist. If I draw digital, I use The GIMP. I work with Faber-Castell watercolour pencils - they are very good and not expensive. All traditional pictures in my gallery are pure traditional - no digital effects. I am trying to find good tricks so it would look good. For example, if I want to draw something in winter, I am trying to add it some 'cold effect'. I am also working on my own manga, and I think it looks quite good.. I have also a tablet, so I can teach you something of digital art.
As a teaching method, I make tutorials for my students and then I give them homework. I would like to lead them to details, since I love details, and also humorous and funny scenes. (Besides of anime, I like also fantasy and art history as well.)




Hello students, I am called Anshin. You can find me under the username *Sharn-Lugonn on DA. I was suggested as a teacher for the Anime Shelter guild by none other than our great leader *Satoe-dono. I like ning with my (Sakabatou), listening to music (I like progressive metal the most), watching anime, using my and of course drawing. Did I forget to mention that I very much like looking at pictures of Nuriko-dono? And I simply dreaming about him. And drawing him was a wonderful experience too.
My favourite anime is Rurouni Kenshin, I think it has the best story and I like the drawing style as well. Manga is amazing. My second favourite anime is Slayers, though the style is a bit difficult for me to capture, I like it neverthless. There are more of them I like, these were just the top two.
Artistically, I like the Kiddy Grade, Rurouni Kenshin and Fushigi Yuugi ( how could I not like the art of my sweetie Nuriko-dono?) the most. Of course, this has nothing to do with my own style, which *Satoe-dono says is pretty "sharp".
I draw traditional art either with normal pencils or with Faber-Castell watercolour pencils for the coloured pictures. I am using fine-tip and brush-like pens for the lineart, but I am not very good with them. I can give you some tips on how to shade or colour your picture cleanly and smoothly though. If you want to be my apprentice, you will have to learn patience, because my drawing is very . When drawing traditionally, the colouring with pencils cannot be rushed, because it will not look as good anyway.
I draw digital art completely in my computer using GIMP. I know a great deal about GIMP and can help you a lot with it. If you want to learn digital art from me, you will have to start using GIMP (it is free software and is just a small package to download). For my lineart I am using "bones", because I have always been using my mouse to colour the pictures (with the exception of a few pics drawn around this time, for I temporarily have a tablet), and I do not have a scanner - so I cannot draw the lineart by hand, scan it and trace it in a computer. I have developed several methods of colouring pictures digitally, for mouse as well as tablet. When using the tablet, I cannot resist spending the time it saves me on putting small details into the picture. I do not want to get lazy with it, but I want to make the picture better (not to mention that I will be left without it after Christmas).
Ohh, I see you are getting a bit tired of all this , so I will finish it quickly. I love colouring the eyes and hair the most and I have a few interesting eye-colouring styles in my sleeve, both for digital and traditional art, but I simply love colouring them digitally. I can add so much detail into them! Just look at my Nuriko-dono picture and you will see.
So if you decide to be my apprentice, you will have to exactly follow my guidance. I am a bit strict, but I can really teach you something - all it takes is devotion and obedience. If you like the way I draw, then it is worth the effort, right?
I think I can manage more students... at least I will have something useful to do (besides drawing - when I need to take a break from it). So for the start, I am taking two students and maybe more later on, depending on how difficult and time-consuming this job is.
